About Me

Karen Comer

I am a writer and editor and reader. I am also a wife, mother, cook, illustrator, sewer, and of course, a chauffeur to my three kids. My Mum said I used to read the cereal box at breakfast when there was nothing more interesting to read. Now my daughter holds her book at the table with one hand, eating cereal with the other.

Stories are my passion. I read them, write them, tell them to my children, share them with my friends.

Stories shine a light on our truth and reflect our lives back to ourselves. Stories are important.

My blog offers book reviews and writing tips for adults and children – and lots of literary and random inspiration! So if you want to know what book to borrow from the library for yourself or your children, I have some ideas! And if you are a writer or want to encourage your children to express themselves, I have some ideas!

I work as a freelance editor from my home in Melbourne – children’s art magazine, business books, children’s non-fiction, educational books and research projects.

I am currently writing a series of children’s novels and a collection of short stories for adults.
